Nasty stains

Hope someone can help with a strange leak of something.
My 1150 gs has suffered from a brownish stain of a liquid which has appeared on gearbox/ engine housing just to rear of where engine number is stamped on left hand side.
This has occured about 6-7 times over a few months.
Initial thought were a fuel leak from breather pipes from tank, maybe when filling up, but there has been no smell of petrol and it has appeared when half full.
Another idea was rusty water collecting somewhere?
Any ideas?

Brown Stain

Had a brown stain on me kecks a couple of times, but it never reached the gearbox......


I thought someone might have lowered the tone before now!!

Any sphinctum puckering moments recently...
no seriously do a search on the AdvRider GSpot forum-
common complaint from gas leakage or overflow and many
suggestions for removal ... including toothpaste!
Basically the clearcoat is stained.

Nasty stain

I have a light brown/straw coloured stain in the same place and have been reliably informed that it is caused by petrol.

Like you, I couldn't recall any occasion when this may have happened.

Damn stain won't lift off either..
