Beats me why we keep buying them. I'm on my second and it's started showing the signs intermittently. Meanwhile my old Nav5 just keeps on going...
Mine too. Doesn't stop it all being a bit tedious though...Mines still under BMW warranty so if this alleged updated one solves the screen issue great, if not I can still get a refund.
I was offered a refund on both occasions.
Each of the units was registered with Garmin under my account, as will the one coming in a fortnight be.
True....they should have been sorted out long agoMine too. Doesn't stop it all being a bit tedious though...
It is under warranty, so didn't want a third party involved in case the warranty was affected. Why did you go back to BMW, Deal directly with Garmin only. Most BMW dealers don’t have a clue what’s happening with the Nav6 and will see it as opportunity to make money. Garmin have been brilliant and I’ve never even mentioned it to any BMW dealer.

The one I sent back before christmas was my 3rd and worked faultlessly for a year, until one day - haywire. I'm not sure what the replacement unit is I've received. I assume it's one of the new ones. The one I’ve just sent back, at Garmin’s request was the second replacement supplied directly from them and has been faultless since I got it in April. Anyone with a Nav 6 should get their name, email and serial number registered with Garmin themselves until this is finally sorted out.
Is it Cap touch as described in @hommes post #10?I assume it's one of the new ones.
The day before I was due to receive my 3rd replacement Nav 6 I got the email inviting me to apply for the new super dooper one that is supposed to fix all the problems. I rang Garmin and asked if they had sent me one of the new. improved units. I was informed that I would get one of the old versions and that you will only get the later unit after you reply to their email inviting you to apply for the new unitThe one I sent back before christmas was my 3rd and worked faultlessly for a year, until one day - haywire. There is no ‘survey’ link and you don’t ’apply’Maybe the subject of a previous thread but where did you find the survey link in order to apply for the cap touch version?
I received my Nav VI + l in November and whilst I don’t have a big trip maybe until later in the year, so I can test what I have, I also don’t want it letting me down as it did on this trip.

It’s all assumption based on the descriptions of what cap touch is. I’m going to try mine later. It arrived by UPS about 10 minutes after I’d typed post #34 above.
