Nav II question

I've been to 2 dealers now and they haven't had a demo model in stock for me to play with. I come from the TomTom world (used in my car) but I now desperately need something for the bike.

1. Can anyone tell me if the Nav II does post code to post code navigation?

2. If not, can I navigate (via road) from where I am to a set of Long\Lat coordinates and if so, how easy is it to input destination coordinates?

3. People's opinions on how well the navigation works?

4. Can I upload speed camera database? I'm assuming I can from reading other posts but just want to make sure.

5. How frequently does BMW update the unit's base maps if at all?

Any opinions appreciated!

First off, I did reply to your PM but message tracking shows you haen't read it yet!

1. Yes. It does but it's not always a hit without additional info ie street names.

2. Yes. Easy via Mapsource.

3. I think it works fine once you are used to it.

4. Dunno. Haven't tried. Prefer to use Mark I eyeball.

5. Had mine over a year and two updates. Easy to download from BMW Motorrad site.

I'm very happy with my Nav II. Have now put in a 2Gb CF card to avoid dragging a laptop about on longer journeys. Nav II Plus obviously comes with a 2Gb CF card and Europe already loaded.

Speed camera database works a treat!
