As I'm reliably informed that the 660 and Nav IV are to all intents & purposes one and the same, I'm posting this question here as I don't see a Nav IV Forum. I'm sure a Mod will move it if I'm wrong!
I've bought a K1600GTL which came with a built-in Nav IV but unfortunately it didn't come with a manual or any cables. So, the first thing I need to do I guess is register it on my Garmin account? (I still use a Streetpilot on my GSA)
The Nav IV map is out of date as well. I'm presuming that map updates come via my PC as per the Streetpilot but I have nothing with which to connect the unit to my PC as the sockets are completely different to my old kit.
Looking at the only sockets on the Nav IV which are both round, is the cable I need proprietary (Garmin) or is there another (read "cheaper") way of doing it? Anyone got one that they don't want? Also, I guess it's time to ditch the Streetpilot as its beginning to hiccup so I'll need a power cable for the GSA as well so I can swap it over depending on which bike I'm riding. Any spare kit lying about?
So, to summarise
1) Do I register a BMW Navigator on my Garmin account?
2) Do I need a proper Garmin cable to connect it to my PC?
3) Has anybody got surplus to requirements cabling that would be useful? (I've already found a car kit).
Thanks in anticipation,
Martyn B

- don't laugh, the release catch was so stiff it wasn't releasing the cover so before I saw the manual I wasn't sure that it even had a removable battery! So now I have access to the mini USB - all I need is a data cable... and a power cable... and lifetime maps (no, it wasn't worth it previously as the Streetpilot went out of support) so I guess this is going to get a bit more expensive.
