Nav V - Shortest route.

I'm a seasoned Montana user but I've bought a Nav V for my RT LC

Is there a way of getting it to calculate a shortest route?

I'm used to just riding out somewhere and then setting shortest route home, thereby finding lots of hidden treasure roads.

Does it not come with a downloadable manual? When they came out I downloaded one from the BMW site for my own use.

They did, in the form of a note to download it.

Obviously people don't read the note, or ignore it. Explains why, when we had the first guest arrived at the hotel with a Nav V, I knew more about it than the owner. One of us had read the manual !
