Nearly afraid to ask...... oil....

Right not really the usual what oil to use question.....

I have 4L of unopened Motul 7100 20W50 fully synth in the wooden shed. I bought it for the ST1100 but never used it.

Would there be any disadvantages to using this in the 1100GS? Or should I leave it aside (for another bike in the future) and buy some cheapo 20W50 mineral down the local motor factors?

Also, a daft one this - the oil has been in the shed since August/September and there's been a fair fluctuation in air temps 20+ to -10 or lower. Still ok to use (I know I know - the bike has been out in that weather too and there's oil in that engine....)?

theres a small chance the engine will use a bit more oil on synth, but its normal

That willbe fine, save a few bob buying some, my 1150 has run on all sorts of oil (86.000 miles no probs (well till I wrote that!)./

While I'm at it - I also have a litre of Motul SAE 80w/90 GL5 gear box oil that I didn't use on the ST1100.

It's mineral oil though. Should I be using synthetic or part in the gearbox and final drive at this stage? 62k miles. Also I presume it's ok to use one type of oil in the gearbox and a different kind in the final drive? Only have 1 litre of the Motul stuff so it won't cover both jobs.
