New 2010 R1200 GS

Pick up my red 1200GS on Saturday - It is a well known fact that red is the fastest colour :D

yellow one

as title says yellow is sooooooooo nice wasnt going to get rid of me last gsa in red but the deal was too good to miss:augiethe new bike sounds really nice not too loud just a nice tone gears feel better dont know if its just because its new time will tell must go and put some more miles on for first service then only 10 weeks to austria, germany italy switzerland :drool

Well I've done it, I've orderd A new 2010 R1200GS from riders in Cardiff colour ostra grey with dynamic and premium package I will be having it on March 1st.Ready to go to the northwest 200 :aidan:beerjug:

I've read the whole thread, and it's obvious.....it's not the colour you got wrong.....you should have gone for the 800GS. Maybe they'll lend you one when you have a service, then you'll realise.

I test rode an 09 GS and then the dealer suggested I take the 2010 demo bike out, yep noticable noise diference (he said Akro sales are down), the bit of extra power is nice and it seemed to spin up quicker than the 09.

As he had a short arse one with Dynamic & Comfort pack there ready to go I am picking up my  black one tomorrow. :thumb:thumb

Bumble Bee

Test rode a P+D GSA last Saturday at Vines (Caterham). Big mistake. Picked up my P+D GSA in Shine Yellow yesterday. Bye bye 10 year old 1150GS.

Hi peejay

I’m glad you got your new GSA, and it sounds like you’re enjoying it…..on nice dry roads.:augie

One of my mates picked his new GSA (yellow one) up from the dealer last Saturday. It was pissing down, but we went for a bimble down to Chedder.
So we stopped in one of the car parks in the gorge, so we could have swap, when Cruuuuunch, his bike fell of the side stand.:blast
No major damage though, just a few scuffs on engine bars, head cover and handguards.

He was just a bit gutted though.

Hi Brian, yep it great:cool:
But I must say that it nearly happened to me, kicked the side stand out and went to lean it over, then realised just before the point of no return that it had flicked back:eek:

Lucky escape, I know how gutted I'd have felt:jager

Which HiDs did you fit? Vines were adamant that I mustn't fit any such alien devices.

Young Les Wassell of this parish.

www.HiD50.com

55watt dip n main and 35 watt aux's

Not had any warnings from Cotswold, I'll let you know if I get any comments on Wednesday.

Peejay

Thanks

I had a pair of Les's 50s in my 1150GS. They're now sitting in my workshop!

I'll be interested to hear what Cotswold say.

Incidentally, would you mind asking how or what they do when adjusting the dip beam setting for continental riding? The book of words says (very severely) that the lamp is very bright(!) and must be adjusted for riding in Europe and that this is a job for an expert, preferably a BMW-Motorrad etc etc.

Thanks Paul

Ditto European Grand Tour for me at end of May and I fancy staying 'reasonably' native friendly :)

after searching for a properly specced and low mileage 2009, today ordered the 2010 GSA in Smoke Grey as the trade in on my K12R was up to desired level. Got the P+D, satnav and 3 boxes. Delivery next week. Is it me or hard they having difficulty selling the new models? No waiting list, decent deals to be done, etc.

Cooper Tunbridge Wells quoted 8 weeks delivery earlier in the year, Vines Caterham said 2-3 weeks for a GSA with P+D about 4 weeks ago. Tested one 3 weeks ago and picked the new one up a week later (from Vines).

Just picked up my new GSA yesterday from Rainbow - one week after ordering it. I have just come back to GS after 6 yrs with RTs.

Had an interesting day ! Within 5 miles the engine cut out twice - second time at about 60mph. Each time it restarted but there were warning lights so I went straight back to dealer. They interrogated the computer - faulty exup valve - took the silencer off - exup unable to open properly as it was full of rocks! The cat had disintegrated and there were chunks of ceramics blocking the thing. They took the full exhaust system off another new bike and fitted that instead - great ride home - bike is perfect.

Am I pissed off about this? Not at all. Rainbow were brilliant - very apologetic - let me hang around the workshop watching the spanner men at work (Rob & Gavin - nice guys). Kept me supplied with coffee and bisuits. What could have been a very negative experience was turned into a positive one by being treated properly by professionals.
