I called BMW Customer Services this morning (0800 777 114) and spoke to Paul. He said that BMW have not approved the Akra and he was unaware of any plan to.

The BMW can sounds completely different than the Akra, can i had both of them and much prefer the BMW one, first of all its better built, its got two locking bolts on the can strap, plus its got a much better baffle arrangement in the fact that there is a built in spark arrestor int he removable baffle, meaning theres less popping, suits some wont suit others, personally i like that.Thunder said:Performance Parts are the UK distributer for Akra, the can they would supply would be exactly the same as any non BMW dealer could supply and it is not "approved" by BMW.
The "official" BMW can stamped with their part number has a titanium sleeve and internals and comes with the badge etched onto the sleeve as can be seen from the photgraphs.
The BMW official can is £495, the Akra can is £419 (with titanium innners)
