Before updating to 4.1.0 I'd have a read here:

of the issues with it. So good even the developer is apologising for the problems, including the "find" function.

I read that. I also use a patched exe and can revert whenever.
So far I just seem to have "lost" some tracks.
My version is 4.0.4 you need to keep up

I was out in the forest yesterday and the posts were past my bedtime
Odd that my BC said it was up to date though when it showed it was 3.x

Mine was the same. No mention that Basecamp should/could be updated but a quick check to Garmin showed the update. I wonder if they pulled the option to auto update when they realised that the new one was causing problems? That way you'd stay which ever version you currently had. Sounds a bit too sensible for Garmin though.
I can't be bothered trying to retrograde it so I'll just not use Basecamp for a bit. If they can sort it within a few months I'll survive!
I think that's what the Garmin developer said in one of the BC 4.1.0 threads.
Is it possible to still get the older versions of basecamp? I've downloaded the latest version and that won't run at all.

The MSI installer will barf as you are trying to install an older version...
I uninstalled 4.1.0. with Revo. Now have to reinstall my maps
