hello there, congrats for the great website..great stuff..
I was pointed here by 2 friends (rokraider and pieman) and I've been lurkin for a month or so...
I've been a GS owner in the past ...R80GS 1982..not the best but still a good reliable companion of many adventure around italy and france and sarf of england..
Had many bikes in the past mainly MX (honda CR) and enduros (XRs and TTs), moved to Buell 2 yrs ago and now I'm an happy owner of a mental XR650R supermoto.
Looking for a come back to THE brand and think the GS is the only one i can really appreciate (RT next step in few yrs time i guess)
I've heard of few probs here and there but I hve also one of my best friends that did London-Kathmandu on his 1150 without a single prob (rear wp shock in Cambodia on the 2nd part of his trip..but is irrelevant IMO...).
Been at Park Lane already for a quick check on prices and the chap over there (Roy if I'm correct) was very helpful and friendly.
My concern is regarding the new GS out next yr that's why i've decided not to buy new (and loose 20% immediately and further 10-15 when the new model hit the showrooms).
I'll use it mainly to commute to and from office in london (20 miles roundtrip..) but most of all I'll be able to travel back and fwd to italy next summer as I used to do on my old GS...great roads, orgasmic fun!
Hve a nice w/e everyone
