Hi iam thinking of getting the new GS so thought i better have a chat to the people who know you guys. I have had a Tiger 1050 and loved it then had a funny five minutes and have a FZ-1 now,i was looking at the Explorer but saw the new GS and wow what a bike bet it will be a load of money.

I like Triumphs and owned a couple inc a 955 Tiger. I have ridden a Tiger 1050 alot and test ridden the Explorer and can confirm that the current GS is a better ride for me. Better suspension, torquey engine and separates braking and steering forces much better as you would expect with the BMW set up. Many will only use the Triple motor which is understandable - but the TEx is no faster than a 2012 GS, indeed the GS has better 5th and 6th gear pick up.

The TEx feels faster due the quick acting throttle, you need to double twist a GS throttle, but when you do it shifts! The 2013 GS will be even better I would think.

Thanks guys, been down to the coomes tunbridge wells dealer today asked the sales women what the expected 2013 GS will cost £16000 loaded, that's a lot but its just an educated guess on there part. Booked a test ride next 2 weeks so will finally find out what you guys love so much about the GS .
