Tomorrow I'm swapping my 2011 Lava Orange F800GS for a shiny new Racing Red one.

I have stripped off the goodies from the old bike that I like and bought a few new ones so will be busy in the garage for a few nights.

I might leave the Akrapovic exhaust until the first service has been done.

Will be waking up far too early

But why leave the akropovic until after the first service :nenau

Im going to ask the dealer if its OK as it sounds great with. Pictures to follow......

Picked it up this afternoon from CW in Dorchester. Now fitted the Akrapovic and Corbin seat. The touring screen doesn't fit, not sure if I need just the bracket or whole thin.

Going to be away now until next Thursday so will get some miles in and get its first service done asap as Im off to to the BolDor and Alps in September.

Next weekend should see the panniers, touring screen, brush guards and cruise control fitted.

Itching to get back home and start farkling

pretty!

Wish I was a few inches taller :-(

a friend of mine had hers lowered, at the back and front with a low seat and she is not very tall, my guess is 5ft 4ins

Still have BMW aluminium sump guard, cruise control, fenda extenda to fit.

Mmmmmm that seat looks comfy....

That seat is comfy and its a Corbin, third hand and on its fourth bike :-)

Well worth the money, I have seen a couple come up on here.

Well ive endured the standard seat (nasty!), then had a BMW comfort seat (too low), and now have the Touratech comfort seat which is much better and quite firm so does make my bum numb after around 100 miles!!! As I have a lot of time between rides my arse cannot adjust so isn't very 'saddle tuned' ive spent a lot of money on seats so now thinking of adding an Airhawk to see what that's like as its probably a cheaper option than keep buying and selling seats lol.... anybody had experience of the airhawk?

Had the old bike done a huge mileage or something? Seems odd to my mindset switching to a newer version of the same machine or have BM incorporated a raft of upgrades?

There were a number of issues with the old bike, which needed dealing with in the next few months. I could have either spent money on it or replace it, if I had gone down the spend money on it route it would have been off the road for many weeks, just when I need it most.

One of the attractions of sticking with the same but newer model was that I had the accessories for it already. So the cost to change was the difference between the part ex and the basic new bike.

Clearly I am lucky enough to have the choice.
