New GSA price is.....

i looked at the 1190 recently and it didn't seem cheap to me. everything was extra. IIRC it would be well north of £15K by the time i'd specced one.

...and if i wanted one without the pointless electronic suspension bollocks, it would be a special order.

If you look at the BMW site it has premium and dynamic pack listed and TBC after them.
So I think the standard bike will £15295 plus premium plus dynamic (=600) plus luggage (=1000 at the moment) so assume 17k and you should have enough for a tank of fuel......

The LE (TE) or whatever they decide to call it already has premium and Dynamic packs fitted! That's what an LE is ! so price is £15295. OTR. plus boxes at a grand is just over 16K.

David, as I said earlier...

Not many actually buy them, they just 'rent' them for £200-£300 per month - so it matters not that it costs £16k otr with luggage

Price per month, mate...................that's modern motorcycling:D

What are the figures on buy outright versus Finance Johnny?

I'm sure that with the right negotiation, most dealers will chuck the boxes in.:thumb

Boxes are just under a grand but no prices as yet. Liners the same as old but with new logos.

Packs as listed are standard on the TE LE or whatever they call it. Alarm is option as are knobblies.

The dealer said to me it was an indicative price and may go up as well as down. Yeah right:rolleyes:

Best of it was the new Nine T is £11600 otr. Lot of money for that but it is seriously nice.

As to finance so what if people use that method to purchase. If it helps them get on the road then good for them. I can buy mine if I want but may PCP it as I would rather look at some money in my bank rather than the garage:D

JB. What's wrong with buying it on a PCP. Serious question as I was thinking about it..do it on my car and it works well.

Nothing, in reality.................unless your circumstances change (search the word 'returns' on here) and you fall into the mire, it's a very enlightening thread

You pay extra interest on the final payment and this can add up to a fair amount

If you took straight HP or loan you would pay a lot less interest overall, but the monthly payments may be higher

Add up the total cost of the PCP loan (deposit or p/x, sum of the monthly rentals and the GMFV added together) and take it away from the invoice price and you may get a shock:D

Compare that to a loan instead

There is only usually one winner, the automotive manufacturer

There's no interest on the final payment. When I bought my first GSA I had it on a PCP. The final payment was £ 4000 I sent BMW finance a cheque for that amount. Unless you have the cash ( which I do this time, but only as I've sold other bikes ) PCP can be a good way to buy. Interest free is the best way of course if you can get it.

You paid interest on the £4k over the term of your agreement....if you have to refinance the final payment, guess what you pay interest twice.... Happy days..:thumb2

There's no interest on the final payment.

There is..................as Twizzle said it's built into the rental package from day 1

There is nothing added (in print) to the final £4000, because you've already paid for it

BMW Finance is working out on day 1, what it costs them to lend the deferred £4k and recover it in 3 years time - either from you or the dealer you traded the bike into:D

Quick example...

Bike £15k

P/x or deposit £5k

Finance Balance £10k

PCP (with a £4k balloon at the end) 36 months @ £215/mth - Interest = £1740

HP/Loan 36 months @ £313/mth - Interest = £1268

So the PCP costs £472 extra in interest, because of the final GMFV of £4000 and the £100/month lower monthly payment

With all due respect I don't think you understand how a PCP works, You only pay interest on the money you borrow, not the balloon payment, that's the whole point! Yes interest is paid on the sum borrowed, which ,(Unless you are a Muslim?) is fine . Yes they make money from it, but shock horror so do Tesco when you buy organic yoghurt. and so do your phone company and interweb provider. Finance is a good solution for a lot of people. I can understand people that don't like it, that's their choice. I'm buying mine cash so don't really care.

I'm buying a Honda CRV car on 0% PCP over 3 years, and getting a discount as well, now to me thats good a bargain i'll ever get when buying wheels.

With all due respect....................see my example above in Post#33

That £4k balloon has cost you £472 in extra interest v's a straight HP or loan, on the same amount borrowed of £10,000

If you don't think it does ................then you're a tad naive, because they're not deferring £4k of the purchase price for free (unless it's 0%), are they:rolleyes:

And.............with a PCP, don't forget about the return conditions too, which are more onerous (especially if you have a minor tumble and don't want it repaired on your insurance with new parts)

The FJR1300 AS looks all the more likely to be better tourer brand new for less money. Can't justify a new GSA LC at that ridiculous price.

You do pay interest on the balloon without a doubt. You are essentially borrowing that sum to pay for part of your bike. It's only fair that the finance co get interest.

Nothing wrong with finance. Without it few businesses would be able to afford capital outlay for equipment. Same in your personal life.
