New member with major headache! Dead gs1250 2020

Well, if all fuses and voltages are ok, the bike should fire up, thus, clearly, something is not right after all.

If there is no red light flashing as you try to turn on the bike, the system does not get power...

You have checked that the fuses are ok, but have you checked that there is power feeding the fuses? At least one of them is always 'hot', and this hot wire is feeding the startup sequence for the entire system. Thus, if no Voltage to any of the fuses stored right behind the fueltank/below the seat, then that is a good place to start the trouble-shooting.

Tried holding both fob a plastic key under the rear end antenna still nothing! No response from it !
On mine i have to flick the key out and touch the key on the square bit under the rear mudguard and at the same time press the start button.
holding it close does nothing.

When you say you checked the fuses (including the 50a fuse??)

Did you just look at them or test them with a circuit tester??

If you battery is ok yet no power is getting anywhere then it has to be something in between and the most likely culprit will be the fuses

Soo…. I have a 2020 GS1250 been used as it should she isn’t no show pony she’s a real work horse! Come out too use it today an it is completely dead! Not getting no response from the TFT where the red flashing lights concerned I’ve checked battery voltage 12.7v fine…checked all three fuses for continuity fine…. checked the battery in the remote for good practice an that’s fine too, the zero response from the display is telling me something other then a keyless issue as it should flash red if there was. Tried holding both fob a plastic key under the rear end antenna still nothing! No response from it ! Soo am dealing with a dead bike.. I have a GS-911 I can’t use as I can’t power the bike up too read any faults soo that’s no use! Anyone ever had an issue like it them self’s!??
Have you actually tried connecting the GS-911 and attempting to read???

Or try connecting a good battery in parallel then try the GS911.

Have you exposed the battery yet to check the rear terminal lead is tight? (its a bitch to get to). you have to slide the battery out of the RH side to check the rear hidden lead terminal is tight.

Yes battery’s been out an in my hand more then once! Literally can’t read the bike with a gs911 with out the ignition being on

Yes all fuses was tested for continuity using a proper tester all checked out zero’d out fine

But even if your key isn’t around the bike you’d still get some feed back from the TFT where the red flashing security lights concerned I’m getting nothing

Of course you can’t read the bike with out the ignition on
With all due respect fella I have just plugged in my GS-911 and it powered up (no I could not get a scan) but for all you know it may work and could just be the display thats knackered or something past the ECU

So...
If I understand this correctly, we are dealing with a bike that was running just fine, and then, after being washed, it was stone dead?

If all fuses are checked ok, this smells of a bad connection...

No way that all the computers die simultaniously.
The lack of red warning LED in the TFT, and no display of data what so ever shows that the TFT gets no power. I don't think this is a TFT issue. The system that checks for a proper signal from the key is not controlled by the TFT, it's controlled by the BMS. TFT is merely the messanger..

If this was my problem, I would have started by checking the connectors, starting from the battery.
When checking the voltage in the hot fuses, I would use the chassis ground as a reference rather than using the -- pole on the battery, as this will also confirm that the ground connection from battery is ok.

I suspect the problem is somewhere close to the battery, and it may be a loose connector or inside a connector...

When you say checked for continuity, does that mean the connection from one side of the fuse reaches the other side of the fuse ? That shows the fuse is good, but have you checked that power is actually getting to the fuse from the wire that supplies it ?

I'd be checking everything to the chassis as a ground, rather than local continuity. +12v to earth sounds the obvious culprit along with an iffy battery and potential water ingress to something directly linked to the TFT.

I'd defo fit a new battery as a starter, check ground to chassis and work logically from the main +12v feed through fuses onwards.

I do however appreciate that when you're outside in the cold logic can be trickier to follow.

Good luck!

There’s 50 amp blade fuze in front of the riders seat look in your owners manual and check the fuze 👍

Yes it powers up on my laptop too but that’s as far as it goes no reading available as the ignition needs too be on

So its not the TFT

My GS-911 powers up when plugged into the ODB connector without the laptop.....So if that isn't happening then you have a more specific issue.
