Hi All, currently in the market for a BMW R1200RT - are there any years to steer clear of and what do I need to check/look out for?

Great bikes. I bought a 2005 when they had just come out and sold that after 35,000 miles of carefree riding all over Europe - one trip covering 7 Countries!
2 years ago I bought the latest 2014 R1200RT SE LC - better again and great to ride.

You can push these RTs harder than one would expect if you need to - very nimble through the bends.

IMO all 1200RT's are good.

Just depends on how much you want to spend / the condition you want to buy in / mileage / dealer or private.

2010 - 2013 is the last of the oilheads before going to WC.

These generally have more bells and whistles (than the earlier 2005-2010 models)

Bought a 2007 SE, only missing a radio!! 11500 miles one owner/full history and had all the recalls carried out.
