I've spoken to BMW and they said it's eleventy twelve actually.

Keep going, this is fun. :beerjug:

Says the person with so little intelligence, he puts his home postcode on his number plate, and posts this on every post:

I despair. I really do. :blast :comfort

I know you have a simmilar taste in bikes as you have to mobile phones. Hows your Nokia 3210 doing ? Just asking :comfort:nenau:D

Arsey is as always "entertaining"...Let's see if you want a bike for the street which bike would you rather ride or keep for let's say 5 years or longer until you get bored and/or something really better/faster comes out ?
A Ducati with cambelt$$$ and desmo valve$$$ ?
A KTM that has all kinds of nagging problem$$$ and few dealers and fewer parts ?
A Africa Twin that already bores you to death after 5 miles on the first and last test-ride ?
A 1250GS with Telelever,Shaftdrive, with more TORQUE than a supercharged Kawasaki inline-4,great dealernetwork and possibly leaky caliper seals that are easy to change ?
I know the answer is easy...:thumby:

5 years or longer ?
Nobody in the UK will keep a 1250 that long unless they take out an expensive extended warranty because they know it will cost them a fortune to keep on the road out of warranty.
Ironic that you’ve posted this in a thread where a bike has failed whilst sat in the showroom :-)
Mighty be different in Trumpshire but I doubt it.

“Something faster comes out “ ?
How old are you ? :-)

Holy thread drift batman....... again, usual suspects.

I’m not especially bothered but it is a chore scrolling through 10 pages of most threads when only 4 are anything to do with the original topic.
I agree.
As someone who’s bike has been affected I would like to read this thread to learn about the experience of others with defective callipers. Is it possible for a moderator to create a ‘Behind the bike shed’ thread to where the three protagonists “contributions” can be moved so they can exercise their spat unhindered by the facts the rest of us seek in this thread?

Why not just admit you made a mistake - is it so hard?

I’m happy to admit when I’ve made a mistake, but on this occasion I haven’t. I’m talking about recalls and service bulletins. Now go and see how many you can find. I’ll give you a clue, it’s a lot more than two. ;)

People like Nutty can't admit to making a mistake as he's a director by profession! I liken him to a nappy! 'Always full of S*** and hanging around your arse' :eyebrow:eyebrow

You’ve got issues. :comfort

My specific question to you was on recalls, actually it's less than two, but I was being generous.

Now, if you could point me to all these recalls I'd be grateful.

From the start, I said recalls and service bulletins, but you’ve chosen to ignore that. :blast

How many recalls has the 1200/1250 been subjected to since 2013?

Above was my question, I was specific, but you chose to ignore it as it didn't suit your agenda and decided to take the piss.

Would you now agree that the LC has only been subjected to one recall (which wasn't really) for the forks?

Mr B,
Whether it’s a recall or subject to a service bulletin,it still means the bike will likely be off the road whilst the dealer carries out any required modifications. So surely it’s mere semantics.
As far as I know, the LC has been around since 2013.You say it’s only been subject to 1 recall in that time.
Between 2006 and 2016 BMW issued 44 recalls,second only to Yamaha on 49 !!
So,as the 1200GS/GSA is the biggest selling model it seems bizarre that only 2.27% off the recalls were for the biggest selling model !! What models were subject to the other 43 recalls ???

I've no idea, I was quite clearly referring to the 2013 onwards GS (this is the LC GS section) - the others are irrelevant in this context. Maybe nutty will enlighten us to the recalls - as per my question to him.

Fair enough.
I was just surprised that BMW had issued so many recalls between 2006/16, though I realise the LC was only in production for the last 3 of those years.

Not that I particularly wish to indulge you but isn’t it more reflective of the size of the product range as much as anything else. For example there were about 5 recalls alone in the USA last year for the same fault but in different models. I say fault but it was an nhsta having an issue with the flashing brake light.

As far as I can see there have been 15 models included in your period so divide that by 44 and roughly 2.9 per model. I suspect much the same as any other marque

Actually the numbers vary quite a bit ,not that I wish to indulge you either :aidan

That may have been your question, but my response was regarding service bulletins as well. You can bury your head in the sand all you like, but the GS has had a lot of issues, which is unacceptable.

Why are owners on here taking it so personally, and throwing around personal insults? :nenau

Why not make it clear that you weren't answering my specific question, I'm not a mind reader.

I'm not taking it personally. I just like accurate reporting - something it appears sadly lacking in these posts.

Just for clarity, what are these 'issues' you refer to and how do they differ compared to other similar bikes?

Have you not sussed that out yet Mr Director ? You really do need to seek psychological treatment of some sort. Here are you, spouting all the shite of the day about a bike you dont own, and never have ie a 1250, yet you and your flyboy boyfriend never miss an opportunity to diss the bike. Neither of you have hands on experience of a 1250 or owned one so your posts dissing the model make you both look like the utter cocks you are. Now, after you've bought one, and run it for a while maybe those of us that do own one might, just might take your views into consideration, but i wouldnt hold your breath.:comfort:augie:rolleyes:

Forget recalls and bulletins lets mention all the problems with these bikes, there is a lot !! My 11 month old 1250 has been back to the dealers more times than my ZZR had in 5 years. I'm not slagging the bike i actually really like it,i'm on my 3rd but fuck me they need to sort the reliability out. Having said that i did 15,000 miles on my 2017 GS and didnt have a single issue but plenty do.

Life's too short to get that upset about stuff and slagging folk off :blast
