New R1250GS Exclusive Supermoto

O
Now get off your "I'm richer than thou horse because I have had one". That's the only reason anybody would buy one.

Where the hell did that come from? :nenau

And try riding one before judging how it rides, based on its looks.

You don't have to ride it to know it wouldn't ride like a proper supermoto.

As for my other observation/comments, have a good think about it

You don’t like the looks of the HP2 MM, that’s fine, but to say it’ll ride a certain way just by the way it looks is a bit silly really.

Your comment says more about you than me. You’re the one that started talking about money.

Remind how I said it would ride please as don't recall saying it.

a 1200 GS with 17 inch wheels ( non factory) is not a practical bike . Looks good but that's about it .

I did many a mile on my gs with carbon bst wheels and it was very practical, not only did it look good but it handled and went very well, its a very different bike with 17" "in a good way"

It does look nice but it's not a Supermoto.

A Supermoto is a light weight, nimble, fast turning, small to mid engined, slip sliding hoot of a bike that was originally a dirt bike.

That is an overweight, over priced, old man's touring bike with 17" wheels ;)

Just in case there is any confusion, this is a Supermoto:

I likes that

I remember at a track day , Cadwell , this guy was riding one , he was fast and backed it in to corners as you would do a Super moto , so from my observations yes it is a super moto and can be ridden like one , ive seen it and was amazed and he was up with similar bikes as well giving it all.

Yeah, but it looks like it won’t ride like one, so you were obviously seeing things! :P

Fair point but I wouldn't class Cadwell as a supermoto track.

Quite like the look of it and for many riders, would be fine with 17" wheels. The issue years ago and I think why some went for a 17" conversion was stickier tyre availability. That's less of an issue now

I am NOT getting involved in this silly argument :P BUUUUUT I've raced SM at Cadwell with NORA, it was part of the championship series for a couple of years (the infield was used for the dirt section) and apart from the long straights the track is technical enough that a 600 SM can wipe out all but the best ridden sports bikes on track days (been there, done that).

Nutty, I don't doubt that the big Boxer is a hoot to ride and handles/goes really well but there is no way in the world it is gonna handle like a 130kg dirt bike, with dirt bike geometry, tiny wheels and pumping out 60bhp, it's just a completely different kettle of sardines, no comparison what so ever :hippy
