New to forum - model identification codes

Hi, I’m new to the forum and am a little confused by the model indentification codes.
What is the difference between a 2024 F800gs K80 model and a OK51?
I have just bought a 2024 895cc K80 model but have seen 2024 bikes with 798cc. Are these the OK51, and what is the difference apart from cubic capacity?

You are actually in the wrong forum. BMW in its infinite wisdom has called two entirely different bikes "F800GS" guaranteeing confusion and ambiguous results when searching. BMW also did this with the F650GS. This forum is for the bikes with the 798cc ROTAX engine used up to 2017. Your bike has a LONCIN engine.

The table found here may help you line up the designators with the models.

Thanks for the reply, RadioFlyer. It maybe explains why I was enquiring about the two different engine sizes that I mentioned. They were both 2024 bikes at Motorrad dealers, both badged 800 but was was a K80 and the other an OK51. Was the smaller engine old stock?

Regarding the chart reference that you kindly provided, unfortunately the bike hasn’t been delivered yet so I don’t know the vin. However, confusingly, the chart shows the K80 designation as being used for both the 750 badged bike (2016+) and the 800 badged bike (2023+). The OK51 model which was advertised by the dealer

doesn’t appear in the list at all. Talk about confusing!

Finally, if I’m on the wrong forum, which is the right one as it’s the only one which mentions the F800gs which mine is, albeit with the 895cc 87bhp engine?

Not unusual as a K72 can be either a F650GS or a F800GS.

Best to ask the admin where he intends your bike to fit in the forum scheme as I agree it isn't obvious.
