New to me R1150 RT

Just collected this on Saturday and very pleased I am with it

Not a single fault and runs like a Swiss watch - testament to Shedmans previous care & attention

I see you have the Sargent seat, beautiful. I had a full Remus system on mine . A bit to loud.....Also did an ipod conversion, works if you have the radio/cd system.

to be honest my r1150rt is my winter bike ,it has heated grips electric screen and the plug for my heated jacket ,so i am sorted for the cold.the mechanics on mine are perfect,the bodywork is at best average.but as far as a winter bike with a bit of poke its great.

I have Corbin seats, but only use them if going on long rides, and I’ve fitted a Z Tech screen. Has heated grips, and a Gerbing heated clothing socket fitted. It also has a stereo system fitted with handlebar controls, who needs a Goldwing

It's just a plastic fender extender fitted to the front mudguard and then it has some sort of protector fitted to the lower fairing to protect that

Glad you are enjoying the RT John. The deflector at the front of the bellypan is there to protect from stone chips, I cut and folded it from a sheet of UHMW polyethylene (useful stuff to keep in your shed)

I agree. I had one of those on both my 1150R & my 1150RT, & I was very impredded with the fit & finish.

They were fantastic
Not expensive for pure carbon and kept the front of the engine area mint
Had them on both my oilhead RT’s

Performance aside, likely the best all round bike in the history of motorcycling. Well done on the purchase.
I should put one on my "forever" garage collection, currently containing mostly Honda VFRs

Removed the fairing panels and fuel tank to replace the fuel filter . Bike is very clean and the de-ABS done by Lloyd BMW in Carlisle has been done very well using a Motorworks Frame and new Goodridge stainless lines

Fuel filter looks like it was the original one fitted from new as it was dated 29/12/02 . Changed for a new one and also changed the U pipe . Drain line spigot in fuel pump plate which drains the overflow in the filler neck was completely blocked so cleared that out . Pump re-fitted with a new O ring

If only they made newer RT's to the same quality as the 1150 and later TC1200's....
