Flushed the brake system through with fresh fluid today and did the same with the clutch circuit

Will remove the rear wheel tomorrow and drop the final drive to do a spline lube with Staburegs

Just need to ACF50 the bike and then re-fit the fairing panels and it will be ready for winter service

Had one for three years... No probs, ridden through all the shite 4 seasons Shetland and some mainland weather... Mechanically pampered, cosmetically neglected...😂 I would have ridden it the length of the country without thinking and still would like one again... A tip for the rufty toughty RT owners is the later GS tyres are the right size and at least 50% more tread and much better puncture resistance if you a rough road/city filterer... Bar backs, lower pegs, Gemi chip, top box (must have!😂) and it'll do very nearly everything...

In a purely offensive gesture I bought a very nice XTZ12 as a treat and picked it up in Aberdeen to ride south and around the country seeing family and friends... Half way round I wished I'd taken the RT...😂 Nuff said...👍

Ps 15 screws a side and a battery drill with the correct bit speed up fairing work significantly...👍😂

Bikes got bar risers , lower pegs & top box . I don’t go for engine , fuelling or ECU mods , keep it all standard ;-)

0500 start this morning to get over to Whitby for 0700 , RT never missed a beat and thanks to the heated grips and vest I was toasty warm ;-)

Probably the best touring bike I've ever had, definitely the most comfortable :)

Glad it has not been a disappointment and is being used and enjoyed as intended. Health to enjoy John, and all the best for Christmas !

Riding back home after a days riding in the Lake District on Sunday the rev counter illumination bulbs started flickering and then one failed . Todays job was to install new LED bulbs into both the rev counter and speedo . Lets see if these ones last 22 years as the clocks had clearly not been removed before

I now have one in the same colour. 2002 model, abs removed and 22k miles. I have some new Continental tyres to go on and am looking forward to riding it when the weather fairs up a bit.

I still have my year 2000 1150 Gs with the idea being I’d decide in the spring which I would keep, but for what I paid for them I’m now thinking I’ll keep them both. They’re very different for two bikes built on the same platform.

Yep and equally capable for everything and everyday (virtually❄️😬) riding... Even as an oilheads GS addict I think the RT is a nose ahead for just jumping on and buggering off a big distance... Also that extra few litres in the LH pannier helps on the Tesco trips... (Other stores are available...)

Centre stand shot blasted and powder coated , it ws about the only bit on the bike that had any corrosion , they certainly don't make them like this anymore . Pivots all checked and greased with waterproof grease
