Hi,

I've just looked on the Honda website - http://ww1.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/

There is a timer on there that is counting down. This runs out on Thursday morning. Anybody know what this is for? I'm thinking it could be an announcement for the new V4.

Cheers

I might be missing the point of this section but to quote a phrase:

"Go on, you know you want one"

This is a section for new users of UKGSer who are thinking of buying their first GS..

Its the place for questions about the GS motorcycle in whatever form you fancy... with a view to helping you make your mind up about the new bike.

Maybee post it in the bollocks section:D

"Old or New"

Hi, another newbie. I'm just about to trade in my 2007 K1200GT for a R1200GS SE, and was wondering if I should wait and get a new "1300 GS" that is roumered to be out soon. I've been offered a really good deal and the SE is a cracking bike. You guy's know about these things what are your thoughts?

Go on, you know you want one So you're thinking of buying a GS, but aren't too sure

Nobody has ridden the fabled 'new 1300 GS' so how you expect anyone to advise you on what bike to get is beyond me!! :augie

I know someone who has, & he says it's a cracker.

Why not get a quote against the new GS for delivery early next year?

I hope the bike is more reliable than the website which crashed when the countdown got to zero! Wound back up to 386,000 hrs and started counting down again :blast It seems to be working now but I cannot download any high res piccies with my mac

GS riders...

do not be afraid I have just seen the press release photos and even as someone who rides a BB it is not a pretty sight. If I wanted a shaft drive sports bike I would definitely opt for a K12/1300S rather than this monstrosity.

I'll definitely be giving that a try as soon as there is a demonstrator available.

The spec is a bit disappointing, as there was a rumoured 200bhp, and I didn't see any mention of the double clutch gearbox that Honda are supposed to be working on.

I'd love Honda to make a bike that I want again, but I'm not sure if this is it.

The idea of going back to Honda build quality, though, still is quite a strong draw.

Really wanted to like this. Looks almost RT ish. Thinking on this or a K1300s which I recently test rode. Awesome bike. Just wish Honda would stop faffing about and get them into dealers. I mean February before any available. Have they not heard of Christmas??? Before anyone says so, Yes Iwould buy now and not wait until March next year. Really struggling with this one as really wanted to compare the VFR with K13s. Its a lot of money to spend only to find out that I should have waited to test VFR. And no I dont want to wait I want a new bike.:D:D

Double clutch gearbox

Looks very good but I wonder how it works for slow speed manoeuvres ?

looks like it fell out of the ugly tree... and hit every branch on the way through.....

And thats from someone who thinks a GSA12 is pretty!

OK if no one else will say it I will:-

"My eyes, my eyes!!"

Sorry, but when I open the garage door I need to be thrilled, now I know beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder, but that just makes me shudder.

And "Sports Tourer"? 18.5 litre tank, and have you seen the pillion accommodation? Don't think Mrs Markie would be happy on that.

I'm sure you'll be able to roll off the tunnel in the morning and have a late dinner in Nice quite happily, all modern tourers are excellent at that now, I want something that when I look at it from the café across the road in Limoges, to think "yeah, that's mine that is", not try and get a seat facing the other way.

I know other will like it's "challenging looks" and love it to bits, and they'll have a great bike in terms of riiding I'm sure, but I'll pass.

cheers

Markie
