Newbie here, cleaning question

I've been informed that BMW have now stopped washing anymore bikes, as direct contact with H2O may lead to unexpected warranty claims due to corrosion!!!

You gest. I specifically ask my dealer not to clean mine 'cos the stuff they use is worse than acid!

Patience and a normal hosepipe is the way to go, even under the seat, connectors should be pretty waterproof, but make sure the water can drain away.

Well it passed its first MOT, woohoo, but they didn't wash it, the washer boy had gone home so I've just spent the last 2 hours cleaning it! God I love that bike !
