Nigeria travel

So I’m sat here in the lounge waiting to board my flight back to Blighty.

Essentially I really did want to come for our business and I’m glad I did. We haven’t made any money but good meetings and relationships started with other opportunities to come.

We gave the client a number of requirements that they met before I was prepared to travel.

They had an immigration officer assist me on arrival at the airport and put me at the gate for the internal flight. I was met coming out of the second airport by the security officer. They initially took me to a hotel to freshen up and eat breakfast. Then he swapped to another following vehicle and I had two armed guards travel to the customers location.

At no time have I felt threatened and we were waved through many road blocks. Maybe the customer has paid in advance or maybe they realise as they employ 800 at this site it’s not worth the trouble to engage with company vehicles, I have no idea.

I’d come back assuming they met with my requirements. The food has been average and the coffee terrible, but these are first world person problems. Waiting two days for a toilet roll was not the best but I’d brought supplies.

It’s a fairly long journey on the way 19 hours door to door, return will be close to 30, but I did have an overnight stay in a luxury hotel.

With any luck home in time for KO and watch England beat the boyos

Same here, but I’ve got to go to Cape Town in Feb…. Nigeria, unlucky.
Cape Town is lovely. There are the obvious areas out of the city which are obviously no go, but if your business is central then just go and enjoy.

Central, some site visits, internal flight to Jo’burg… more meetings than home….

I have a team down there all locals… they will keep me out of trouble

I’m booked from March - out on 14th direct to CapeTown
