I've just changed the front brake hoses for Goodridge braided stainless ones and also replaced the original nearside caliper bleed nipple and offside BMW 'filler adaptor' for stainless nipples; all supplied very efficiently by Motorworks. Everything has bled fine and I have a firm lever at the bars. The problem is the new bleed nipples appear to be weeping, the fluid 'appears' to be coming up around the threads rather than out of the top through the bleed hole.
I made sure the threads were all clean and have tightened the nipples to the specified torque (14Nm). I've also nipped them up a tiny bit more, but being careful as it'll be the soft ally caliper threads that strip before the nipples. I'm almost tempted to put 1 wrap of PTFE tape on the threads but haven't done yet as I was once told by an engineer, a long time ago, that it can stretch the threads.
Has anyone experienced this before and can anyone offer a solution?
Bike is a 2000 R1150GS, non servo, non ABS, with Brembo calipers. Thanks,
Mick

The Bleed hole is in the base of the hole and the bleed nipple tip fits in and seals it

If there's fluid getting through there is a mismatch between the tip of the nipple and the hole!

Check new nipple against the old one

DO NOT try to tighten them any more !!!!

Try this first if its not oozing out. When bleeding you will get fluid around the threads, and some will remain there (and in the nipple) after you have tightned the nipple. It can look like there is a leak around the threads as the fluid works it way out.
Put a bit of tube on a syringe, place over nipple (which is shut, dont loosen it) and push the syringe plunger. You will force any remaining fluid out and at the same time stop corrosion occuring later on :) .
