Heyup, i have a 1995 gs1100 i have had a shuftie of the font of wizardum but cant see anything so here goes, when pulling clutch lever in there is a noise i am unfamiliar with [always had japs and an aprilia] it sounds like a cable slapping inside a steel tube ,it just makes this noise once as its pulled in , it may not seem like a good desription of the noise but its how it sounds to me. daft answers on a postcard, serious answers i thank in advance ps i know a lad who has an 1150 gs and could ask him for a ride on his but seeing as he sold me this one i would rather not unless i have too.Big Jessie:hide

I believe the noise is ok if it goes away once you release the clutch.
Very bad if it still makes this noise if apparent whilst riding.

Yip, dry clutches obviously can be noisier when disengaged...

If you get a rumbling noise when the clutch is engaged that is a possible sign of the taper bearings on the input and output gearbox shaft having problems. This is obviously the opposite of what you are hearing but hearsay can mix the message...

You sure you haven't got a Ducati. Sound like a cement mixer they do!!!

Duke 888 etc used to have dry multi plate clutch with holes in cover hence you could tell which Duke by the clutch noise alone.
