Noisy Fuel Pump

Has anyone else got a fuel pump that makes a continuous beeeep when the engine is running.
BMW say I need a new fuel pump on a very low mileage bike that is only 2 months out of warranty! They don't know why it does this or whether it is doing any damage, just that it shouldn't make this noise.
It never made this noise before I had the fuel sensor recall done 3 weeks ago.

Has everybody had the recall done, I've just bought a 58 reg 800 and the dealer did not mention the recall...

This afternoon the fuel pump was replaced by BMW even though the bike is now two months out of waranty. The noise is still there, but barely perceptable. apparently this very quiet noise is normal.
