noisy fuel pump ?

Hi I have a 98 1100 gs and there is a strange constant noise coming from the tank the bike runs fine could it be the fuel pump

Yes the pump and filter are in the tank and immersed in fuel, normally you can hear a whine try a non standard can if you don't like it.
