north yorkshire moors back roads, scenic route

some pics of some of the views along the route it is 140 miles, half tiny back lanes half fast twistys,

(please beware of the sheep and lambs, they are right on the road side and even on the roads and they are a bit nervy and unpredictable just at present,)

Hi Martin, I am new to the site but would love to join your ride if you don't mind. I have just come back to the GS after a number of years away and I live in Teeside so Thirsk is an idea meeting point.
Cheers Alan

hi alan

of course your more than welcome:beerjug:, ime just new to GS myself, but i find ime getting out on the roads you would not want to go on on sports bikes, and i am having much more interesting fun now, you will find that the other lads are a great bunch, and ime sure you will be made as welcome as my friend and neighbour tink and myself were when we first met up with the other gs forum lads for our first ride out only a couple of weeks ago,

JOHNYBOXER you will know these little roads well, i used to ride them and use the trails along the way in my green landing days, as i know you have, and i must say i still enjoy this route as much as ever, yesterday was a lovely day up on the moors,

the route is 140 miles and due to the small roller coaster of twisty back roads a couple of gates and sheep, the ride will be pretty steady untill we get to whitby, though coming back will be faster on great twisty roads,

sunday august the 5th thirsk market place near white horse chippy meet up at around 0900 to leave at 0930,
i look forwards to seeing you:)

I could be up for a run out on Sunday (24th)

sunday should be fine mate, (though ime not sure about the weather as its forecast thundery heavy showers for sunday?) i might have to do a bit of work early morning, ime not sure but i should certainly be free by 10 am ish

Sounds like a plan, where to you want to meet?

i know where there might be a bmw run out from york over the humber bridge to skegness and back if you fancy it, great roads, if i get finished work in time ?? but i will let you know for sure tomorrow, when i find out about work,

ps i only live at thirsk so easy to arrange meet up

The York run sounds good but might be a bit far for the pass out I have. Was thinking something a little closer. No probs if you want to do this. We will be at Akyleheads the following Sunday for BikeWise if you want to meet up then?
Al
