Going north or south? South - ferry to Andenes from Gryllefjord (sp?) then down the length of the Lofotens over to Bodo and seek out road 17 which is a mix of good roads and six ferries. There is a timetable book with details free. Get one at the first ferry. North, there's not so much choice. I enjoyed the rock carvings in Alta but that might not be your thing. If you are heading for the cape the hostel at Honningsvag is good.
Sorry, just read your post again - do you mean Stave beach, the one with the hot pools? If you do your already on the Lofotens.

Yes mate - Stave Beach Hut - the pone with the hot pools, form their south, to do the atlantic road and the "troll road"...

If you want to meet me, PM here at UKGSER, ok?
Liv.

Glad you are enjoying Norway. It's a fab country and totally overshadows its next door neighbour!
Norway is expensive, 2 yrs ago I paying nearer £20 a night for camping!
A hut was about £40
Lived on bread and cheese and pasta from the supermarkets - prices were okay. Had my 1st 'meal' after two weeks on the road when I got into Sweden as I could afford the burger and chips at about £7.

Thanks for sharing in this thread.
I am on the way back (was at Norkapp on Monday), now in Trones - just did part of the 17 down from Bodø.
Will do Oslo-Kiel and then Hoek-Harwich to get home.
Have been enjoying every single mile so far (maybe less the ones in torrential downpour)

Would anyone care to cast an eye on the RoundBalticRoute? The Nordcap doesn't interest me but preserving/reducing costs does, so I am thinking of (Camping's definitely out) hostels and/or cabins. I appreciate the extremely high costs of food and beer in Norway.
