Hi Folks

Just thought i'd give you guys a shout out to remind you to check your gearbox seals, these are notorious to blow and do some serious damage if ignored, damage to the gearbox of all things and thats big €€€ then...below is a picture on a leaking seal, this is the by far the most popular seal to go but the only behind the rubber boot also leaks and then the one on the other side of the gearbox, i know you wont be able to see that one...but you'll know that ones leaking when your clutch starts slipping, it can be quite hard to notice these seals gone if you dont look in the right places and especially if your bike is dirty, most of the time...well check out your 1200GS or GSA for this, you approch the bike from the left hand side and look just above rider footpeg infornt of the shock and you'll see clutch slave cyl and if it looks like below...then you know what

Enjoy the read

Good advice Mark.
If the input shaft seal is leaking, you can usually see evidence of oil at the joint between the gearbox & engine, it may also be obvious on top of the crankcase where it sticks out under the gearbox housing.
If you keep a regular check in these places, if anything does appear, you should have the leak rectified & most likely get away without needing a clutch.

Thanks guys, is this an issue for 1200GS/GSA only...........or equally applicable to 1150GS/GSA (and 1100?) ??

All bikes with seperate gearboxes can be effected.
Seems to be later bikes that are worst. R1200/1150 & K12 flat 4 are worse earlier bikes.
