Oddometer has stopped working R100GSPD

My "mileometer" has stopped working recently. The speedo still works so obviously the cable is ok. I imagine a new one or even second hand one will be fortunes. Does anyone know where I could get mine repaired? I'm in Cyprus but the UK would be the best bet for me.

One of the guys in the USA repairs them but he has a very long backlog so don't expect a fast turnaround.

Great info, thanks very much. The new siebenrock speedo is the way to go.....better get saving! (still cheaper than orig.BMW part if you can find one!)

Complete rubbish from a few reviews I've seen. One said the thread was wrong for the speedo cable, another said it was miles out and then another review said it was fine for the money. Anybodies guess really (but then they are made in India)

Dont you realise that I'm crossing that barren wasteland knows as the 'World sans R100GS', that all essential item that everyone must have. As soon as I get a suitable replacement I'll be snapping these up just in case.

Peter Bond looks good, but at the price he should be.

My local guy charges a fraction of that - I had two G/S small rev counters repaired for 55 quid the pair, and a G/S speedo was 45. Peter charges 240-

He has found that repair work is rarely required, usually things have vibrated loose and all that is required is to strip, re lube and re assemble good and tight.

Mines buggered at 100000km (60000 miles) seemingly thats what mileage they chuck it according to a boffin at Motorworks.

Mine made 400,000 km, then the old dear started lying about her age - instead of clicking over to zero she went back to 90,000! Then to 80,000-----.
