There is no space for a strap wrench so you will need the correct filter socket.
Yes, sadly had to order one. Had a go with a screwdriver and no joy.

Sadly so many people (mechanics included) tighten the filter much too hard. Hand tight is hard to gauge when you have socket handle leverage but really folks. If/when the socket slips (as they often do) drill a suitable hole through the middle of one flat. Fit the socket and knock a screwdriver through the hole then it should unscrew the filter.
