Just completed a major rebuild of my 1150GS and on first test ride the oil window has blown out with crankcase pressure.:blast I have done no work to the cylinders or pistons so assume the cause is simply a kinked or trapped crankcase breather pipe. Tank off in the morning will confirm.
My question is:- Am I likely to have damaged anything else such as oil seals.:nenau Rear crank seals were just replaced and I'll cry if I have to strip it again. Want to be riding!
Any advise.
Cheers guys, Rob.:beerjug:

No real kmowledge apart from the fact that oil window appears to be a weak/vulnerable part of the system and they crack and fall out occasionally. Happened to me one day for no obvious reason. I now carry one as a spare.
If bike has been rebuilt and been oil free for any time it may be that the seal around the window just dried out and it fell out with the vibration.
I would check for the kinks and then just put a new window in to see if it happened again.

My GS had been stood for about 18mths when I first got it, for the first few days of riding, oil was leaking round the sight window. 15000 miles later and it's never leaked since.

I guess the seal dries up with non-use and if it's too long it'll just fall out.
