Go over as a foot passenger, take your credit card then you will be able to ride her home!

If you have never ridden a gs before i suggest that you take it for a long test ride as they need time to grow on you. ENJOY:thumb2

Let us know how you get on.

Chewey, as Stigo has said, go as a foot passenger then if you do decide to bring the bike back no probs, if you dont then you've not lost anything and not spent so much on the boat fares. Keep us posted how it goes, whether you come home empty handed or on your new ride :thumb2

It's probably a bit too late, but if you can get both bikes to the ferry, the one in your avatar might fit in my van.

thank you all for your replys. well i took the drainrod to sarfamtun and rode it home again, dont think i want it in anyones van;) thanks for the offer well the deal is done. paid for. collect it when i can get back over. probably next saturday, unless i can have another sick day in the week but seeing as i had one last week to collect the harley from attitude customs i dont think i can get away with it again. i'm on a short pass for tomorrow morning to ride the bike then i have to do the christmas visit stuff with swmbo. hope to see some fellow gs riders around our bumpy little isle:thumb2

Gonna brave the weather tomorrow Chewey I do believe as I am itching to get out for a ride and nicks not ridden his in over a mth, may see ya about :thumb

I braved it today - round the Island Ryde to Ryde including the military road - just for the scenary you understand. My first chance to put on a few miles since I bought the bike. It was cold!!! Power delivery is a different experience but so easy to ride and I can see where the big mileages come from. Only issue was brake pedal position as explained in my post in 1150 technical.

Vectis, or anyone for that matter, nick says be brave again tomorrow and see ya down Shanklin between 9 - 10am :thumb

Can't make it tomorrow am on the mainland for a few days on business trip thats why I risked the wrath of the family and went out today :bounce1

Good idea to meet up though, maybe the next decent weekend. :thumb2

good to get out

Went down to Shanklin this mornin, got there just after 10, a few bikers had gathered in the cafe, the usual ones, not sure if Chewey had made it and we had missed him but we stayed until 10.50 then made our way back to Newport via Maplins so nick could get his LED lighting strip stuff to do more mods to his bike
Felt great to get out for a ride even if it was only short, was nice and snug all wrapped up.
Wont be up to much over the Christmas hols Stigo so dependin on the weather and what you got planned yourself let us know here bout that meet, when and where, maybe next Sunday weather permitting will head down to Shanklin again for a morning hot choccy, get one last one in before Christmas, that a do for starters anyway :thumb2
Lookin forward to next spring when it gets a tad warmer and can go a bit further afield again, off the Island as its just boring over here dont you think :D

Little Beemer
Will try to get to Shanklin next sunday if i can get one of the lads to feed the cows!
I will know a bit more later this week & let you guys know

You are right about the roads over here the mainland is better but France is even better, i try to go there as often as i can as i have mates and a house over there.

A mate with a house in France eh, how handy is that, nice pic too !

oops, I see you are subscribed, was not logged on when I tried.....doh, silly mare ;)

i went to shanklin this morning. had a quick cuppa but left about 10 oclock. some power ranger types who wer'nt to sociable to a lone harley rider. will be a gs rider next saturday so will take that next time. next sunday morning i'll be there for tea, comments on my purchase, and will probably have questions to ask.

An IoW Gsers meet is a great idea - but I can't make next Sunday - we will be away for our Xmas hols.

Sometime in the new year - I would also be up for a ride out to the Millau Bridge - its pretty awesome!

Chris
