Looks like I'm slightly late

However, I ain't an expert but I would send a fax to the dealer telling them that you've heard that some GS1150s surge and this is a "characteristic" that you don't want.

Then if it does surge, I think you'll be able to claim that your requirement was an "implied condition of contract"....I'll bow to anybody that has superior knowledge though

Well after all your advice I took the GS out for another test ride this time with my partner on the back, we loved it! so, I've gone and placed an order for a new GS.
