Hi all...after a difficult 6 months away from the GS I'm a coming back!!!
Let me explain...I had a couple of 1150's and rode 'em all year round and loved 'em.Then got to thinking that the 12 had to be a refinement of what for me was already a cracking package!
For me it didn't work out quite like that..for 2 reasons.
(1) I over comitted myself financially in the 'upgrade' and had difficulty feeling at ease with that!
(2) I just didn't quite 'gel' with it in the same way as my old 1150s!!!!!!!! (still better than most of the other machinery I've ridden over the years) so Red Rooster did my the service of taking the steed off my hands.
Oh and thirdly...s'pose I'm a fickle bastuard at heart
So the last 6 months on a K1200RS have been all about 'just existing on 2 wheels'. Function and form had replaced fun and frolicks. And as for the K12rs.com forum
(some right yankee beatniks on that site)Bollox to all that...had enough so popped up to BVM (Stroud) today and part-ex'd against an early '02 anthracite 1150 in good nick with 12k on the clock. Despite it being the 3rd bike I've had from Mark there, he drives a hard bargain!!
But hell after a test ride I was all smitten and grinning liking a Cheshire all over again. So he capitalised on my weakened state of mind. Still I'm not complaining.
It's gonna cost me to get back on the GS bandwagon...but I haven't over-comitted this time (lesson learnt).
So good to catch up with yous all once again (I know I have never been the most vociferous of forum posters) but it'll be great to be back on orbit in the right system again!!!
