Has any one fitted a one peice seat from the likes of touratech etc. If so how practical are they to take off and put on-the original two peice can be a pain-so is this even more difficult, how comfortable are they and any prices.
The original gs seats are a bit lardy in the days of sports bikes with a 4 be 4 inch chunk of concrete to sit on.
the one peice touratech and also the gsa adventure seat look slimmed down and more appealing to the overall look of the bike (personal opinion :thumb )

I've fitted a one piece Touratech sports seat which looks better than the original being black and grey and is far more comfortable. As it is slimmer and firmer it doesn't splay your legs or push you forward. Comfortably covered 350 plus miles a day to Garmisch. Cost about £299 i think, oh and just as easy (or difficult) to remove as the original.

Fitzy,

Is it the same height as the original saddle ? I'm trying to find a saddle somewhere between the two standard heights if poss.
Also looking at the Wunderlich version.

cheers,
mike

has anyone fitted a gsa seat to their gs bikes would love to see a black and red seat on a red gs if so how much did you pay around 300 pounds?

I fitted an Adventure seat onto my GS12 for a try out. A good bit taller (which I like) and more spongy feel which may be more comfortable over a distance. A new one costs about £170 for the rider.

I must admit I like the look of the one piece TT seat and would be tempted if it wasn't for the fact that I would loose the ability to put the top box in place of the pillion seat or just remove tha pillion seat and have that lovely big flat area (when combined with panniers) for tying stuff down to.

I like the idea of the Adv. seat though - would love to get my legs a bit straighter without lowering the pegs and if, indeed, the seat is taller than standard then that may provide a solution.

Yes, the Adventure seat is taller than the tallest GS option (low, standard and tall), but I can't for sure say by how much. The only reason I won't buy one is that I'd probably prefer to have it re-covered in black to match the pillon perch, so I'm thinking of getting the tall version instead.

Still looking to see a touratech or wunderlich one peice seat on your bike-would be grateful for a photo and feedback-am suprised that they appear so rare :tears

Touratech 1 piece

This is the higher version.

Combined with the bar risers and taller screen transforms the Bike. did %00km's in one day, very comfortable.

Any idea what it's like for the pillion - the rear looks thinly padded.
