Online tyre test?

Why's that? Both my son and I have them on our WCs and neither of us has had any problems with them and we're not inclined to bimble. I had Trail Attack 1 fitted to a previous GS and I wasn't impressed, especially in the cold and damp.

As said I played it safe and stuck with what I know and like based on my own experiences and prejudices along with some info and opinion/experiences gleaned from others, I had a previous version of Anakee and disliked their wet weather performance and changed them early, I've never forgotten that and probably never forgiven either ;) The Anakee 3 is often slated for it's road noise so that along with my previous experience was enough to put them out of the running for me.

Roadsmart 2s are what i run. Very good tyre. You will wonder why ya didnt do it sooner and ya"ll never go back...

They were my next choice and will give them a try next time :thumby:

Keep us posted Steve, as most of the time I ride the same sort of roads as you.:thumb

I'm sure they should be ok on light gravel though.:augie:D

6k on my T/A's and I probably could have got another 500 to 1000 out of them which I am happy with, the old tyres did several long weekends last year and a Euro trip as well as more localised riding, as you know where I ride the bike is not on the centre of the tyre for long so wear was quite even across the whole width of the tyre, I have no doubt the replacements will fare just as well but do fancy a set of Roadsmarts when these are spent, so until this time next year............:D

New Cont Trail Attack 2's fitted today, played it safe The tyres that came off had over 6k on them which I consider ok and an improvement over tyre life on Conti T/A's on my previous twin cam, Nutty I have no idea how the T/A 2's will cope with a gravel track and have no desire to find out, as for Annakee 3's I wouldn't have them as a gift, seriously :augie

Might try some next time

OK, I have been running Anakee's on my GSA WC which i have found fine albeit noisy, called protyre for a new rear as it had 5K on it and its as square as a square thing, £113 fitted to a loose wheel but they have none in stock so an 8 week wait. So after having Tourance Next on my old TC which again where OK, and a set of normal Tourance on the TC after that which i found better..........the decision was made

With all the info i went for my old Favorites, Conti Trail Attack (2) this time, which ive had on all my BM's before those above, twas like putting on a comfy pair of shoes, im happy and at £240 fitted to loose wheels, well happy,i was quoted £262 or £282 ride in but they did me a deal as they couldn't get the Anakee which i had called about the week before and said they had one for me.

As a side note my riding buddy Worthing Welsh of this site has just had a pair of TCK 70 fitted the week before and after a ride to the Ardennes last week, he thought they were ok but move about a bit on the blocks when cornering, they may be fun when we go to the pyrennies at the end of June. He very much like Distanzias.

Anyway for me i would rate the Conti TA 1st, then the Anakee and Tourance joint 2nd and the next last. ive also had Bridgestones on but quite a few years ago and again were OK :thumb2

Hope that helps

Just had a set of PR4s GT rear trail front
They are brilliant and as i do not venture off the road are soon much better than the Anakees

All that said the new Pirelli Road Angel GT are now getting seriously good reviews and are considerably cheaper than Michelin so i swear I will give those a try next time
