Oops-bought an old shitter- collective thoughts required please .

How very dare you, I'm 5'11! I think it's more due to the fact it seems to slope towards the tank and has a dimpled grippy texture. :D
Was expecting a FU and you on my ignore list now type of response 😂. I’ve never had the opportunity to try an 1150 GSA. One day …

All this talk lately about the 1150… 🤔💭

My advise is get the existing seat rebuilt to your spec.

20 years since I had an 1150 GSA (as per my forum pic) but still remember the seat being overly soft and not at all comfortable - had it rebuilt by Tony Archer at the time which transformed it (y)

Sargent seat on a 1150 GSA is best
You can get normal height and low height
I have normal height

Pigglet, thanks for your kind offer .

BUT I’m sorted :JB

I called Sargent Seats in the US and A and they have stock of the 1150GSA seat.
Could have got one delivered to a US hotel-for example I’m in Seattle next month but if my trip gets cancelled or any other blip then I’m buggered, so I noticed that The Adventure Bike Shop are UK agents and have a dedicated website so I had a look and they knock off VAT.
So I’ve ordered a seat

It’ll be better than an OE seat, if I ever found one .

Ok, I could have got it cheaper sent to a US address but there’s no messing this way and if I ever sell the bike (unlikely, as I always hang on to my bikes, 😜) then hopefully I can sell it on.

So the shock and seat are sorted.

Think I might order some Pivot Pegz and I’ll be done.

Thanks for all the input above.Much appreciated 👍🏻

Don’t forget to grab this shiny thing from @Nick Marshall since you are missing it on your steed.

Result! that'll transform it. I'm debating whether to go for the same or twin seat mine.
You may want to look at an MRA screen too while you're lobbing cash at it if you are afflicted with the dreaded buffeting.

You got me there.

Why is it not needed? It’s an original BMW item.
There are two types. This is the later one that would have came with your bike when it was new.

Also have an original cat.

Congratulations, Martin. That seat looks fab… The chrome exhaust part does make a difference, in looks and by diverting crap away from the front of the silencer and it’s union with the collector or y-piece.

Well, because I didn’t even know it was missing and it might look a tad daft , being all shiny on an old bike .

Good original parts for the 1150’s are becoming hard to find. I’d have that exhaust joint cover in a heartbeat if I were you. Which I’m not, obvs, just saying.
