Ouch !!

I got hit from behind yesterday a a junction and me and the bike went down the road. Luckily the bike fell onto me so there is little damage except to the crash bars. When I picked the bike up she started no trouble but cuts out when I put it into gear. Obviously the side stand cut out switch is damaged. Is there a way to bypass this so I can still use the bike ?

I had similar after my spill. If you look at where the switch assembly locates at the rear of the side stand pivot you may find that it has simply moved away and is therefore not switched when you lift the side stand. Mine had lost the circlip which held it in place. Pushing it back was a temporary fix until I got a placement clip.
