Hi,

I have been servicing the bike and drained the FD oil, added 230ml of new oil as per the Haynes and struggled to get it all in (am guessing that maybe the old oil didn't fully drain (altho I did leave it ages).

If i take some oil out with a teat pipette or something and there is still too much oil, will it pressurise the FD? How much do I remove?

Any help, advice or pisstaking appreciated. Thanks James

Hi James.Dont worry about overfilling it.
The fill hole is also the level hole;fill it to there, all OK.
The drive does have a breather (that black thing at the drive high point).
What did the old oil look like?.Black?.shiny bits in it?.
You did you SAE 90 GL5 oil i presume?.

If you have posted this in the right section, then just just fill it to the top of the filler/level hole while the bike is on the centre stand :thumb2

Edit - Colban beat me to it

Thanks

Thanks Chaps.

Col - old oil was ok, got correct oil, I get the Silkolene hypoid sae 90 GL5 from RWH. Thanks again.

If it's an 1100 or 1150 bevel box your talking about, fill level is to the bottom thread of the fill hole! :thumb

Yeah just up to the threads there or thereabouts

although a few ml more is not the end of the world

Don;t be Kicking yourself about it :thumb
