Last year my R100GS was going to fail but the tester spoke to me before inputting it into the system ...

Me: On what?
Tester: Engine speeds up when bars are turned!
Me: Hang on one minute!

So I whipped the petrol lines off, lifted the tank and rerouted the throttle cables slightly. Then started the bike after replacing the tank. Turned the bars left and right and no change at all.

Tester: "Fair enough" and printed off the pass.

As opposed to the guy who once tested my R1200RT and tried to tell me that the front wheel had spin freely like a bicycle wheel!

At least having old tyres is not an MOT failure - just spooned off the old squared off rear Tourance that was made in week 2 of 2010 and so over 15 years old!

When I bought the R1200C built in 1997 it passed it’s MOT with 25 year old Michelin Tarmac tyres!

I got them changed the next day.

Looking forward to seeing the bike Paul.

Recently acquired this nice looking '93 R80GS. It came with loads of history, starting life in New Zealand, completing 52K Km over 5 years before being exported to UK by it's third owner, who ran it for 13K Km over 13 year. I bought it with 72K Km on the clock after three more owners who had much work done to keep it running. I plan to check over the normal age related items before taking it on some decent tours.
The airhead is looking less worn than myself with the last I owned, 26 years ago.20251222_181741(1).jpg

You are just showing off how long your legs are! 🤣

I would struggle getting on and off with a box placed there.

Hope to see you tomorrow at Matlock.
