PC or Mac?

Mac is the way forward (perhaps)

I have used both Mac's and PC's for years in business and also for personal use.

The PC has it's benefits, easier to network, cheaper software and winddumb is the widest used platform.

Apart from that I honestly think there are no other beneifits.

The Mac is something else, fast, powerful, intuitive.

I use a 17" Powerbook, but have used Powermacs and i books, and they are all fantastic.

No system crashes, stable software, loads of processing power, great displays, versitile, easily expandable.

The thing to consider is what your going to be doing on it, if its just word and excell, then a cheap windumb machine will do, if you want Graphics - buy a Mac

got the wife a macbook (so I could 'test' the OS) now waiting til payday and my 24in imac, 2 windoze laptops gone, 1 x desktop going.

me, a convert.............. Hell yes

Been watching this thread with interest. Daughter wants a laptop for Christmas.

I priced up a Mac £699 equivalent Dell Insipron £549. Is the Mac worth the extra ?

It's defnitlee not worth that much extra.

About 3 times that, yes, but not that.

Buy the Mac - end of issue, job done, sorted, endex, everyone happy, result.

Been there, done that. It's not "going for the Dell". It's just delaying the eventual purchase of a Mac when you are sick on another pile of PC poo problems.

I did the same sums mate, got the wife a lovely little dell for 600 quid,
Sold it 3 months later and got her a macbook

only 3 days til mac heaven in all its 24 in goodness!!
