i've been looking for a pd tank for my 1990 bumblebee since i saw some photos of one with the pd tank fitted. not keen on the hpn tank. i've noticed the tank has a moulded lip where the fairing slots in though and i want to find out if this looks crap if you only have the small bumblebee fairing. cant find any photos that show it from the right angle to see what the front of the tank looks like without the fairing. anyone have a photo of this set up or seen one in the flesh?
also finding it hard to get one if anyone has one lying around they want to get rid of?:augie

Scribbles, there are none left in circulation in the northern hemisphere...I think you'll find them all in a certain Northern Ireland museum, owned by Thunder !! :D

I'm only their custodian for future generations ya owl bollix :rob :D

Scribbles there is currently a 100GS PD tank listed over on German Fleabay which you can check out.

If your talking about the earlier mono PD tanks they are making crazy money these days and rarer than the old rocking horse poo.

Could post you some links of recent listing on Flea Bay but I wouldn't want to depress you. :augie

i have seen the prices the mono pd tanks are making. unbelievable. it is the later paralever one i'm after, as in your link, tho that one doesn't have the lid and it'll cost £90 for the bits off bmw on top of the million euros it'll finish on. i'm happy to pay a reasonable amount, i was just concerned that the moulding on the tank that the full pd fairing locks into will look shit on a standard bike without the fairing to cover it.:nenau

Great pics them, but dont those forks look skinny.. I also cant make out what has been done to the front iof the engine, doesnt look like the usual cover. Its on both bikes, Rob, Any ideas??.

Judge. Recon the owner of the second bike must have been from Wilmslow. Years ago I went to a house there where the whole decor was black and white. what was worse was the 1930's Rolls. Black and white with all the upholstery in black and white stripes.

With reference to the picture of the two black GS's above:

As I look at the foremost bike with the PD tank, I can't help thinking about one of those caricature pictures where the figure has huge upper body with a tiny little head and face.

I think it just looks wrong. Like the builder gave little or no thought as to the front of the bike :nenau

Hmm - I have to agree - it needs nice fat USD's and a stonking single disc / multipot calliper. Wouldn't be very 'airhead', but then the rest of the bike isn't really (IMHO of course) ;) Don't know what I'd do with the light unit, but I agree it looks all wrong.

thanks for the picture. the bit on the tank i was worrying about doesnt seem to stand out which is good. it does look weird with the skinny forks and light cover. reckon it'll look ok with the standard setup tho. just got to find me a tank now without getting robbed:type

i have 2 pics of paint job that look good on GS PD but wont let me post since the water goes down the sink the other way. email me on [email protected] and i will email you pics to post
