Introduced to the famous rally a few week ago...... I knew of it, but never really took the time to understand it :blast

Anyway the question is, do you guys think its possible to do the whole lot in 7days.

Planning ahead a bit, but was thinking of sept time :beerjug:

Good idea or rediculious :mmmm:clap

I'm sure it is - friends of mine did it two up last august in a week.
Go for it - you'll see some lovely places and ride some great roads!

It's hardly worth the bother. I don't see the point myself.:D

Ridiculous

Could be tricky if your map reading is as risky as your spelling

"rediculious" :augie

so give it a lash.. .... go for it :thumb..

anything is possible, if it would only stop raining.

I'm planning a couple of 2 day runs to pick up the remainder of the photos I have to get.
The ones that I have got, I did in 4 one day runs.

Dakar,
No problem to doit in a week, I managed to do 11 check points in two days last weekend and attended a family Holy Communion in between. Did 768kms (11 hours) on Friday and 622 kms (9 hours) on Sat evening/night. I did one check point (Ultachs monument) as it was getting dark/got dark dark and I was thinking what the hell am I doing up here on my own, on these roads, at this time of night (without any flares).I also added a few colourful terms of endearment for Gerry C but as I got out of there in one piece I was singing his praises. It was a great experience.
I only have one check point left to do and already I miss the idea of having 'little targets' for the rest of the summer.
Perhaps a few weekends away on the bike might be better that a one week hit?
Either way it's all good.
Enjoy

I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but poor oul GerryC. :comfort

He gets the blame for all of these, but in this case anyway the blame lies firmly with Jockser and me as we submitted the Ultachs as a PR point. :o

Edit.

Ignore all the above. That GerryC is an awful hoor altogether. :green gri

Sounds like a plan (must get some flares :thumb2)

Thanks to all for the constructive advise, even GSpizza  :beerjug:

From the back - yes a complete hoor.

As for blame read praise - that was a real good find thanks. :thumb2

Aidan / Jockser I will have to spin up to that road again in the daylight to see what it looks like.At the monument the fog had closed in up to the edge of the road, about 10-15 feet of vis on the way back down. Then the heavens opened.I probably said about 10 decades of the rosary.

Jockser, I didn't see any of what was in your first pic. Similar to your second on it was dark. A good Rally point though.
