Nice one :)

Is march the earliest you could get the new machine?

If so i might have to think about ordering ours sooner that i thought....

Micky - You know I'll keep you updated. May even do some miles with you and the boys (if you'll let me join in :P)

Wookie - I could have taken delivery in January, but don't want it till March. It was the only one they had available though, so you may want to check with your dealer to see what allocation they have.

New bike...

Hi all

Px'd my F650GS last week, for nice new grey F800GS.

Went for first real ride - 220 mile round trip yesterday/today, so thats 240 miles on the clock! Weather was awful but bike was excellent.

Didnt find the seat too uncomfortable, and hard to tell if I need a taller screen as the wind was from all directions, coupled with the rain.

One problem I found I need to extend mirrors about two inches so any ideas? I seem to recall motobins or another selling extenders.

All in all a brilliant bike, even better when it's run-in!

New bikes

My partner and I have just collected our two new F800GS and F650GS bikes from Ocean in Plymouth. So far (150 miles) so good. We'll leave the off road experience until the end of April when we will take part in the basic BMW off-road school in Wales. After that? Spain and Morocco for May and June. We cannot wait :JB

Details:
F800GS
yellow & black, heated grips, centre stand, ABS, large hand guards, onboard computer, akrapovic exhaust, BMW aluminium panniers, BMW aluminium bash plate. Ordered: Adventure-spec crash guards.

F650GS
azure blue, heated grips, centre stand, ABS, large hand guards, onboard computer, BMW black expandable panniers, white indicators, tyre pressure warning system, low seat. To be ordered: crash bars - could be Adventure-spec depending on how they look on the 800 or possibly Metal Mule.

Very nice. Yellow in the 800 though? The magnesium ones are faster I think. :hide

Can vouch for the adventure spec bars on the 800. Look great, and they work too!

Collection of my brand new F650GS twin

I collect my brand new F650GS this Saturday and I was just wondering if there is anything I need to look out for in the first few months/miles of the bikes life. I believe there was an issue of stalling, but don’t really know of anything else.
If anyone has had any problems or minor issues that they can point out, then I would be very grateful. Also, if there is anything I need to check with the dealers before riding off into the sunset

I will be collecting it from Southport and riding about 70 miles back home, so I don’t want any drama’s on the way home…

Cheers

There are some issues with the F650 - well documented in this forum. However, the first ride of a new bike is a unique event to be savoured. My advice is to enjoy it to the full and not to worry about what might happen - because it almost certainly won't. :thumb2

I will be collecting mine mid morning :JB. The dealer said that there is another collection at around 10. Hope they don't get the bikes mixed up!!
Good luck with the new bike. If you get any problems, please let me know, likewise I will let you know if there is anything to keep your eye on.
:clap:clap:clap:JB:JB:JB

Enjoy your first ride!!

Cheers Chris....Nippy Normans wanted £60 for the extenders, so I've learnt to live with the mirrors!
