Hope I am posting in the right area!! Sorry if not.
Hi Everyone,
I took my wife out today for a 110 mile ride on our 06 1200GS (new to us about a month ago) and I noticed 2 rather alarming things. a) My wife who is an excellent pillion could not sit comfortably in her BMW leathers as she slid back and forth on the seat which made for a very unrelaxing ride for me. I also had moved the seat to the lowest setting and previously it was reasonably comfortable. Aching all across the shoulders and numb backside as I type!
Also the fuel guage stays still for ever then drops like a stone. As we got off the bike there was one small bar left and the larger one at the bottom and we have only done 140 miles from filling up. Sensible speeds and I may be hefty(15 1/2 stone) but the wife is only 7 1/2. What sort of range should I expect and is there something wrong with my fuel guage? ps I had an akrapovic silencer fitted on purchase -may have been a bad idea?
any thoughts comments will be well received as this was the most uncomfortable bike ride I have ever undertaken. My 1100GS was never like this!

My 06 does 210 plus on a tank but only if you are patient enough to squeeze in every drop and shake the air out the tank to get it in.
