anyone else had this previously. got on my 07 spec this morning (2300 miles)
brake failure light on , shock horror never had this problem with my vfr , rode down the driveway , stopped , turned off . on again still there , turned around back down driveway - it cleared ........

rode into work - no problem ..... (30 miles)

but aware all the way ...........

is this straight back to the dealer or somewhat usual ....

Never had this as a problem but I'd get in touch with your dealer immidiately and make them aware of it.

Just for reference has your bike ABS fitted?

ok i'll bite......

afaik the bike runs checks on the brakes which take a few seconds, this light always comes on until you have ridden a few metres and the brakes have been checked etc.

ie they all do that sir!!

If it's 07 spec there wont be a servo, so this shouldn't occur should it?

Probably will as on whichever 1200 GS it's testing the brakes, not the servo IYSWIM.

Can't check my bike just now :o but I'll have a play later :)

It does rather sound like the bike not finishing the bite check till after the wheels got up to, IIRC, 10 mph.

Not sure about the servo/non servo thing, but i would have thought after a couple of thousand miles he would be used to the start up sequence.:nenau

Shep

well , funny thing is , it hasnt in the last three months ..... first time - was red with 'brake failure' - if that happens on your bike when u start up - suggest a visit to the dealer

good morning

it is with great embarrassment i write this - just come back from dealers - and yes ' it is a check and always happens' .... i have been riding this since november and every day it has been the same. it must have just registered and i took notice of it last week. again apologies ... but at least i know my brakes work fine - dduuurrrrrrrrrrr
