Pilot Road 4 has changed my bike!

I know I should know this off the top of my head but I don't. Can someone tell me what size tyres I need front and rear for GS LC.

Just been quoted £290 to supply and fit PR4 trail by my dealer. I do fully understand that my dealer has overheads but from what is being quoted here it seems a bit steep. Hence I would like to check prices but cannot remember sizes.

Many thanks

Dario

Quote for PR4's from Chandlers Brighton is £325 fitted...

I found the PR,4,s a huge improvement over Anakee,s.

I was told yesterday that Michelin are doing a £35 cash back or equivalent on a fuel card at the moment so it's worth asking the question.

Yeah bendy that seems to be the going rate, except dealers....
Good stuff.
Did another good run today and im totally loving the tyres vs the anakee and conti road attacks I had previously. Transformed the bike.

Had Anakee III's on my 2013 GS which I thought were fine.

My 2014 GSA came with Trail Attack 2's which I hated in the wet

Now running Tourance Nexts which I am more than happy with so far - no issues in very wet conditions :)

Was put off PR4's by their reputation to get punctures but no personal experience with this.

Big shard of glass stuck in the one of the grooves in mine after first 50 miles. Pulled out ok and no puncture. Did 750 miles last weekend with no problems so hopefully a one off.

If you're thinking of getting these these tyres they really are very very good , grippy in all conditions and improve the ride no end, you won't regret it!

I have PR4s on my Gs and our barman has them on this VStrom. Neither of us have had a puncture so far. We are both very happy with the tyres, excellent grip and very confidence inspiring in the wet too. They wear out at about 4 to 5 thousand miles (rears) We both wear the edges and the centre of the tyre hardy wears but then where we live the roads are rarely straight for long!

My GSA came with Anakees but they seemed very prone to slipping on the damp stuff. After 500 miles on them (2500 miles since new) my confidence was shot so I tossed them and changed back to PR4 trails that I had used on my previous GS. I can only agree with all those that report that the bike is transformed and I now have a bike that I can really enjoy.
The PR4s cost £240 with free fitting for drive in service at Wheelhouse Tyres in Coleshill on the east side of Birmingham. They only do bikes and give a great service.

Well it's a full road tyre mate. Doesn't sound like it would be what you want if you do all the other stuff.

If you take PR4's off road you must either be some kind of riding God, or an idiot.

Makes me wonder why it is called Pilot Road 4 Trail? As far as I recall PR4 road tyres are not available in GS size.

The standard and GT versions have the same tread layout, with the front offering a wide 40% band of medium compound across the middle and 20% of soft compound on the shoulders. The rear sports a hard compound across 20% of the middle to help with longevity and the medium compound covering 40% each side of this. The trail version is the same front and rear, with a 60% band of medium compound across the middle and 20% of soft compound on the shoulders.
The trail version is the only fitment for the front, all three rear versions will fit.
