Gonna be spending the night in Darlington next Wednesday night.

Got any suggestions as to where to stay?

Work is paying, so up to £100.

I'd like somewhere I can grab a  and a bite.

Any suggestions?

any way here is a link to the hotels in the town with room availability and price

http://www.booking.com/searchresult...ius=15;checkin=2009-06-17;checkout=2009-06-18

copy and paste the whole lot to the search line and it will bring up about 21 hotels.

The thing about using sites like that if you don't know the area is that some hotels are miles away from Darlington, such as the ones in Croft, Piercebridge, the couple near Newton Aycliffe and many of the others as well.

I know the Blackwell Grange is OK as i've stayed there, and business acquaintances use it regularly.

I'm surprised the Kings Hotel is listed, it still looks as though it hasn't got a roof since it caught fire last year :)

Can you do something about the banging noise they make :)
I've been in a few of those due to neck problems and when i had the first one i was warned about the noise, when it started i thought it was fecked and someone was hitting the outside of it with a hammer :D

Don't forget to wave as you go past.

:D

PS: You'll not be far from Westgate Hill :thumb

My 2p. Stayed in Darlington a few times in the last few years. Blackwell Grange can be ok, but some parts were "tired" when I last stayed. Stable block was nice. Another one is the Ballantynes New Grange Hotel. IIRC it doesn't get overwhelming praise even if a Dragons Den person is the owner. If you find somewhere nice let me know, ta.
